Wishing each.and.every.single.one.of.you. the most wonderful and peaceful Christmas. It’s been a good few months since I wrote but no month ever passed without me thinking about you and sending you the absolute best, so I hope you felt the virtual hug and good wishes.
And now it’s my last working day of the year and there is no way that I could let it pass without connecting with you. So here it is … my wish for you this Christmas, inspired by my favourite author and poet of all time, John O’ Donohue, a rare and beautiful soul, who I turn to for every type of event – happy and sad, in times of crisis and for courage.
I chose it because the first part of the poem seems to me to hold an invitation for each of us, to close the year with peace and tranquility with a quality of letting go that is needed to shed the old and release what no longer serves us. And then the last three lines of the poem seem to pivot and turn their heads towards the New Year encouraging us to fan the flame of our deepest desires with the quality of love. Could there be a more powerful wish or beautiful invitation to come home to yourself? Thank you John O’ Donohue – you have done it again.
To Come Home To Yourself
May all that is unforgiven in you,
Be released.
May your fears yield
Their deepest tranquilities.
May all that is unlived in you,
Blossom into a future,
Graced with love.
Happy Christmas everyone and may 2018 be your best year yet.
Be the Best You Can Be.
Bí chomh iontach is atá ar do chumas.
